sTAFF at the Birthdays store in Crystal Peaks have been told they are to lose their jobs.
The shop is among 25 Birthdays stores and 19 Clinton Cards branches set to close, administrators say.
A total of 366 employees will lose their jobs in the first wave of store closures.
Clinton Cards, the UK’s biggest specialist cards retailer, went into administration this month after failing to find a buyer. Adminstrators have announced 350 shops are lined up for closure.
Peter Saville, joint administrator, said: “We are fully aware of the impact these closures will have and are working with a number of agencies to assist employees affected.”
The ailing retailer, which had 784 stores and employed more than 8,000 staff, collapsed after its biggest supplier American Greetings called in a £35 million debt.
The group recorded a pre-tax loss of £3.7m in the 26 weeks to January 29, compared with a profit of £11.7m the previous year, and warned the second half of the year would be below expectations.
