AN INQUIRY is to be carried out in Parliament into measures which could be taken to improve life for residents on caravan parks.

The Communities and Local Government Committee, chaired by Sheffield South East MP Clive Betts, has decided to carry out the exercise into ‘park homes’ to ‘identify key concerns and examine the need for legislative change’.

There are not many static caravan homes in South Yorkshire but many people from the area own mobile holiday homes on the east coast.

Mr Betts said: “We’re especially interested in issues like site fees, awarding of site licences, regulation and enforcement of site conditions.”
