Car rally is a classic - SLIDESHOW
A SHEFFIELD park was transformed into a showground for hundreds of classic cars and vehicles at the weekend - attracting thousands of visitors.
For the eighth year running the city's Festival of Transport proved a huge success, attracting families as well as motoring enthusiasts from across the country.
Graves Park was the stage for the event - free for the first time - with around 400 cars exhibited dating back to the 1920s.
Classic cars were displayed alongside American vehicles, custom and kit cars as well as motorbikes from through the ages and old commercial vehicles.
There was also an old fire engine, ambulance and bus as well as old VW camper vans.
Proud owners were happy to talk about their vehicles and there were a number of club stands, including BMW, Capri, Ford Anglia Jensen, Morris Minor and VW. And while the adults admired the cars the children enjoyed a fairground and attractions including trampolines, a giant inflatable slide and stalls.
There was also a narrow gauge steam train for youngsters to ride.
The event was sponsored by South Yorkshire Casualty Reduction Partnership, which gave talks about speed cameras and demonstrated how vehicle recognition cameras work.
And firefighters reconstructed a crash scene to demonstrate some of the scenarios they are faced with when motorists lose control of their cars to promote the safe driving message.
