EXTRA car parking spaces are to be created at rail stations using a share of £11 million being allocated to transport schemes around South Yorkshire.
South Yorkshire Integrated Transport Authority is due to approve the funding for 2013/14 on Thursday.
The Local Transport Plan funding is separate from the £700 million Sheffield City Region Infrastructure Fund.
Among projects being supported are an extension of the car park at Meadowhall Interchange park and ride.
There are also plans for a 64-space car park at Elsecar rail station.
Money will also be spent on replacement of worn rails on Supertram, and minor schemes to cut congestion at road junctions.
A further £207,000 is to be approved to fund community transport services for elderly and disabled people.
Funding is also being made available for upgrades to cycle routes and to cover the cost of operating speed cameras.
