Cannabis plants with a street value of more than £10,000 were seized during a raid at an address in Doncaster.

Officers from Doncaster’s Urban Safer Neighbourhood Area executed a drugs warrant at the property in Abbott Street, Hexthorpe yesterday.

They seized 34 cannabis plants, which together have a street value of more than £10,000. Enquiries are ongoing to trace the occupant of the property.

Pc Steve Roberts said: “Drugs have a devastating impact on communities. They can, and do, ruin countless lives.

“I am pleased that these drugs have been recovered and will now never reach the streets of Doncaster.

“However, I would urge anyone with any information on this cannabis farm, or any other such set-up in South Yorkshire, to call us on 101.”

Anyone with information should call South Yorkshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 819 of 12 April 2014.
