A two hour candlelit vigil is being held tonight at Sheffield U-Mix centre to remember victims of knife crime, along with their families and friends.

The event at the centre on Asline Road, Lowfield, from 8pm is being organised by the Drop the Knife, Get a Life campaign.

It follows the death of Leeds schoolteacher Ann Maguire earlier this week.

Campaigner Cheryl Robertson said: “We aim to remember knife crime victims and their families and to come together in our ambition to stop this crime in our communities.”
