A candlelit vigil is to be held in Sheffield to remember victims and their families.

The event at the U-Mix Centre, Asline Road, Lowfield, has been organised by the Drop the Knife, Get a Life campaign group.

It is to be held on Sunday, May 3, from 8pm to 10pm.

Campaign group member Cheryl Robertson said: “We aim to remember knife crime victims and their families and to come together and unite in our ambition to stop this crime in our communities.

“As parents, we feel we need to look within our own communities and raise awareness with our children about the dangers of knife crime.

“This will be a peaceful event and will bring together all communities because it’s our society, it’s our problem.”
