A BREAST cancer information day is to be held in Sheffield to reach out to black and ethnic minority communities to ensure they know the signs and symptoms to look out for.

Breast Cancer Care has organised the Cancer Awareness Day from 11am until 2pm on Wednesday, July 13, at Highfields Trinity Church.

Other cancer charities - including the Prostate Cancer Charity, Bowel Cancer UK, Macmillan Cancer Support and Cavendish Cancer Care - will also be there.

The event was organised after research showed 43 per cent of BME women never check their breasts and 45 per cent of BME women of screening age have never attended an appointment.
