A FLOOD victim has spoken about her ordeal in a bid to encourage Sheffield residents and businesses to make themselves aware of the risks.
Alison Carlton, of Todmorden, West Yorkshire, who was affected by flooding in the summer, reveals her experiences as part of a new film from the Environment Agency. It will be used with other material in a month-long campaign targeting people in at-risk areas.
Alison said: “Things that you just don’t expect to get damaged, were damaged.”
Adrian Gill, flood manager for the Environment Agency, said: “It is essential that Sheffield people understand the risks that flooding poses to their property and personal safety, that they find out what they can do to keep themselves warned and informed against any future flood risk.”
