Campaigners taking fight against HS2 to Parliament

Have your say

Campaigners fighting plans for a new high-speed railway line linking London and northern cities including Sheffield are heading to Parliament.

Stop HS2 campaigners are off to London on Monday, the day of the first reading of the HS2 Phase 1 Hybrid Bill.

Coaches have been booked from across the country to take campaigners to meet MPs on the day the Department for Transport publishes the plans for HS2 which will go to Parliament.

Joe Rukin, Stop HS2 campaign manager, said: “On Monday, people from up and down the HS2 route will descend on Parliament, not to say they don’t want HS2 to come near their homes, but to say they have studied the plans and justifications for HS2 and it should be scrapped completely.”
