A SHEFFIELD campaigner has won a top national award for her work to help victims of asbestos poisoning.
Paula Walker has won the 2012 Robert Tressell Award from the Construction Safety Campaign for her efforts in the field of health and safety.
Paula has been working on behalf of asbestos victims for the last 13 years, including work acting as secretary to the Asbestos Support Groups’ Forum, a national co-ordinating body.
The award is presented to a person who has given outstanding commitment and service to workers, campaigning for better working conditions and helping those who have been injured or are suffering from diseases.
Paula is also a member of a Parliamentary sub-committee on asbestos, linking support groups with the Government.
