ACTIVISTS demonstrated against youth unemployment by marching to the Sheffield offices of controversial employment agency A4e.
The event was part of a national day of action against work experience schemes called by protest group Youth Fight For Jobs.
Spokesman Chaz Lockett said A4e was a company which received payment from the Government for sending unemployed workers on placements which were little more than ‘forced labour schemes’.
“If unemployed people refuse to take part in these schemes, they face having their allowances removed,” he said. “If the Government can bail out the banks, it can bail out working people by creating a scheme of public works, guaranteeing jobs in the public sector for all young people.”
