Barnsley Hospice is hoping the chance to win a rollover will boost the numberm of people playing its fundraising lottery.
The hospice currently has 4,500 players taking part in its £1-a-week draw to win £500 or other smaller cash prizes.
It is hoped more players will be tempted to join by a new rollover draw with a chance to win an additional big prize of up to £5,000.
The hospice needs to raise £1.9 million a year just to stay open and last year the lottery brought in about £134,000.
Ian Carey, hospice chief executive, said: “We realise finances are tight but because it’s a local lottery, players have a better chance of winning. They are also making a regular contribution to our services.”
