People with practical skills are invited to a ‘repair cafe’ which aims to bring back the make do and mend spirit of days gone by.
Heeley City Farm is hosting the event on Saturday July 27, from 10am.
Organisation Repair Sheffield hopes to encourage people to stop throwing things away, and mend them instead to save cash and the environment, with its second such event.
Organisers want people who have skills in repairing items - from watches to clothes - to attend and share their knowledge.
Gordon Ferguson, from Repair Sheffield, said: “There must be lots of retired people out there like me who have spent a lifetime practising ‘make do and mend’, as well as people with practical skills acquired through their paid work.
“Repair Cafe is a great way to meet like-minded people and join in some real community spirit.”
People can also learn how to fix their items at the cafe or bring tools and materials to share.
The event is free and runs until 4pm on the day.
