ARMED forces veterans from around South Yorkshire gathered to discuss the campaign for equal pensions rights.
The Equalities for Veterans Association held the meeting at Carbrook Hall in Sheffield.
The group wants people who retired from the services before 1972 to receive the same pension rights as those who left in later years.
Sid West, of the Equalities for Veterans Association, said: “We had a good turnout of 26 veterans that served before April 1975.
“The Government is ignoring our petition of over 300,000 signatures and I think are waiting for the last veteran to fall off the perch! So their problem will be solved.”
Veterans have received support from Sheffield politicians including Paul Blomfield, MP for Sheffield Central.
