BAKERS who can make a mean Victoria sponge or create a carrot cake to die for are being invited to get busy in the kitchen and raise money for poorly children.
Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice launches its Love to Bake campaign on Monday, asking people to bake a cake and sell slices to their friends and colleagues, with the proceeds then donated to the North Anston facility.
Those who are particularly proud of their finished product are also invited to take a photo of their cake and upload it to the Bluebell Wood baking gallery on Facebook.
The image which gets the most ‘likes’ will receive a £20 Love2Shop voucher.
Those who aren’t very confident with a mixing bowl can instead buy a recipe book packed with ideas for cakes to help support the campaign.
A hospice spokeswoman said: “Just one cake sold for £1 a slice could raise enough money to help a child breathe easier with an oxygen mask.”
