A MOUNTAIN rescue team was called out to deal with 12 casualties in just over a week - as walkers headed to the countryside in the heatwave.
Buxton Mountain Rescue Team helped eight walkers, three climbers and a mountain biker.
Their busy period started with a 16-year-old walker who slipped and suffered an ankle fracture in Millstone Quarry.
On Wednesday, the team had three calls in two hours.
A climber fell on Stanage Edge and suffered head injuries, a climber was injured at Burbage South and a mountain biker fell off and suffered shoulder injuries.
The team was called to the face of Mam Tor, near Castleton, after six walkers got stuck on loose shale on Saturday.
On Sunday, they were called to The Roaches, Staffordshire where a climber fell.
