CRUNCH! A bus and car collided blocking one of Sheffield city centre’s busiest routes and causing severe disruption.
The number 52 Stagecoach bus and car were involved in the smash on West Street early in the afternoon.
Rupert Cox, commercial director of Stagecoach Yorkshire, said: “No passengers were hurt. Both the Stagecoach driver and the car driver were taken to hospital by ambulance as a precaution.
“The incident will be investigated by Stagecoach and South Yorkshire Police.”
Both vehicles were damaged.
Other bus services were diverted while the damaged bus and car were removed, while Supertram had to suspend services through the area as its tracks were blocked.
