A SHEFFIELD businessman has died in hospital almost three weeks after being attacked in a park for the keys to his luxury Bentley car.

Anthony Power, aged 78, from Bradway, was attacked in High Hazels Park, on the evening of Monday, October 8.

He had gone to the park to help a search for his brother, who lives in the Darnall area and had gone missing.

South Yorkshire Police said: “Mr Power, who was found unconscious at High Hazels Park close to Olivers Mount, at around 9.10pm on Monday, 8 October, has passed away in hospital over the weekend.

“Anthony Power had driven to High Hazels Park to assist family members in a search for a relative who had been reported missing that evening. The family member was later found safe and well.

“A 30-year-old man was charged on Thursday, October 11, with attempted murder and robbery in connection with the serious assault.”

Discussions are now set to take place about amending the charge to murder.
