Barnsley businesses have saddled up to take part in a four-week CycleBoost trial, designed to encourage people to live a healthier life.
A total of 25 employees from businesses within the Barnsley Digital Media Centre took part in the free cycling support scheme, racking up an impressive 1,160 miles - the equivalent of doing 4,667 laps around a 400 metre running track. They also saved 362Kg of CO2 emissions.
Participants benefitted from the loan of a bike and cycling accessories, free sessions to learn about route finding and advanced commuter safety skills.
Melanie Oldham, MD of Bob’s Business Limited, said: “We’re keen to encourage a work-life balance and used the CycleBoost trial as an incentive to help our staff lead a healthier life style.”
