Yorkshire Forward director's new role
ROTHERHAM business woman and Yorkshire Forward director Julie Kenny has been appointed vice-chairman of the British Security Industry Association, the trade association representing the professional security industry in the UK. Julie Kenny is managing director of security equipment manufacturer Pyronix and chairman, chief executive and major shareholder in its parent group, Secure Holdings.
She has been involved in the BSIA for more than 15 years and has twice been chairman of its Security Equipment Manufacturers.
Julie Kenny is also vice-chairman of the Yorkshire and Humber Spatial Planning Board, a member of the UK Commission for Employment and Skills, the Department for Work and Pensions' Better Regulation Stakeholder Group and HM Revenues & Customs' Administrative Burden Advisory Board, a director of Barnsley and Rotherham Chamber of Commerce and a trustee of Mount St Mary's College.
BSIA chief executive, John Bates, said: "Julie brings to the role within the BSIA a wealth of experience of the private security industry
and extensive knowledge of the workings of the Association.
"As a champion of small business in the Yorkshire region and nationally as past Chair of the Small Business Council, Julie has made a real difference in advising and supporting small and medium sized enterprises and I hope that her enthusiasm for this area will bring further benefit for BSIA's membership of which 84 per cent are SMEs."
