Trio of firms in top 100
Three South Yorkshire firms are among six across Yorkshire to be named as Britain's biggest private companies.
Furniture firm DFS, construction group Keepmoat and hi-tech steel business Firth Rixson have all secured places in the latest Sunday Times Deloitte Top Track 100 league table.
Doncaster-based DFS, owned by Lord Kirkham and his family, has slipped from 86th to 94th, with sales of 584 million, which were recorded before the credit crunch bit.
Keepmoat, from Doncaster, has also edged down – from 95th to 97th on sales of 571 million, while Sheffield-based Firth Rixson enters the table for the first time, in 99th position, with sales of 564 million.
