A Tour de France Grand Départ pop up shop is set to open in Meadowhall as Sheffield gears up to welcome the world’s biggest annual sporting event.

Fans will be able to purchase official merchandise including a limited edition cycling jersey from a new shop which will open on May 31.

The shop will be decked out in yellow, green, white and red polka dots to reflect the tour’s jerseys and will feature images from past races.

Visitors to the shop will find cycling jerseys, hoodies, t-shirts, caps, flasks, tote bags and mugs among the items on sale.

Meadowhall’s events and retail promotions manager, Alex Caley said: “We are delighted to be hosting the Welcome to Yorkshire pop up store, offering shoppers the chance to get into the spirit of this monumental sporting event.

“The Tour de France arriving in Sheffield is one of those once-in-a-lifetime opportunities so we are understandably excited to be working in partnership with Welcome to Yorkshire on this project, along with a host of other activities taking place in the lead up, culminating in a big finale with the Meadowhall Fan Fest event on the July 6 as the race passes by.”
