Spring contracts bloom for social housing firm

A DONCASTER-based building firm is enjoying a Spring revival by winning four new housing contracts.

Affordable housing specialist Frank Haslam Milan, part of the Keepmoat Group, has secured a succession of new sustainable housing contracts across Yorkshire.

This important new business signals a promising start to the financial year for FHM as it continues to expand throughout the region.

FHM will be delivering a contract for the Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust by building 13 family homes at Huntington in York, which will incorporate the latest water and energy saving features.

In Sheffield, FHM is working with Sanctuary Housing Association on a £2.2 million development to build 24 apartments for older people in Shiregreen, which will start this month.

Following the demolition of a 10-storey tower block in Fosters Way, Sheffield, FHM will start work in August with South Yorkshire Housing Association on a £1 million contract for seven new houses.

The fourth development is for 24 energy-efficient houses and bungalows for Unity Housing Association in Scott Hall Square in Leeds, a contract worth £2m.

FHM managing director Martin Smithurst said: “These are fantastic contracts for FHM to secure and will see us building affordable, sustainable homes for social landlords in Yorkshire.

“This new business builds on our strong start to the year and sees us continue to develop the business in key parts of the region.”
