Soap star Samia provides a touch of TV glamour

CORONATION Street star Samia Smith left the cobbles of Weatherfield behind to help launch a Meadowhall jewellery store’s new range.
Samia, who plays hairdresser Maria Connor in the soap, ditched her scissors and curling tongs to enjoy a night off from Audrey’s Salon at Thomas Sabo jewellers.
She enjoyed oriental-themed entertainment including geisha girls, dance demonstrations, food and drinks, and giveaways.
Managing director Harald Winzer said: “We were really excited to bring this event to South Yorkshire. People from the area have been so welcoming, so we wanted to provide our most loyal shoppers with a fun night.”
Meadowhall marketing director Richard Pinfold said: “Thomas Sabo is among a host of new retailers we’ve welcomed to Meadowhall this year, and it’s great to see them holding fantastic events like this.”
