PUBLIC transport was badly hit by the severe snow fall across South Yorkshire - with disruptions and delays still likely on many routes this evening
Gritters have been working around the clock to keep main roads open but most side roads are experiencing problems.
Trains and tram services were running regular services.
And Doncaster Robin Hood Airport, where the runway was closed during snow and ice clearing work this morning, reopened around noon. Passengers are still being advised to check with the airline or tour operator for latest departure information.

Due to the adverse weather conditions, there were some disruptions to Stagecoach Yorkshire bus services across the region. With snow continuing to fall, passengers were urged to visit www.stagecoachbus.com for regular updates on service changes throughout the day.

Service 34 - Buses from Rotherham to Meadowhall are operating via Pitt Street/South Street. Buses from Meadowhall to Rotherham continue to operate via Meadow Bank Road due to the number of parked cars.
Service 35 - Now operating via Whitehill at Brinsworth
Service 37 - Back to normal route
Service 39 - Now operating normal route, except not using service road to Haynook
Service 40 - Now operating normal route, except not using Becketts Crescent
