Sheffield student flats ready for first tenants

Construction of a new Sheffield city centre student apartment development has been completed.

The £5 million Portobello project is at the junction of Rockingham Street and Portobello Road near The University of Sheffield.

The building was designed by Sheffield architectural agency Coda Studios.

The seven-storey structure, in black brick, was finished on schedule and will now house more than 100 student beds.

“The construction work was carried out by a local contractor and that brought more work into the local economy,” said managing director David Cross.
