Sheffield home for global biotech firm
Leading global biotech consultancy RTI Health Solutions has chosen Sheffield as the site for its latest UK expansion.
The US-based company has opened up an office in Velocity House, on Solly Street, close to the city centre.
Steve Beard, RTI's global head of health economics in Europe said: "The Sheffield office provides us with a second United Kingdom site presence and further expands our reach for potential collaboration with academic groups having an international reputation."
"The Yorkshire region is home to health outcomes expertise and significant postgraduate programs based at both the University of York and the University of Sheffield. Our office in Sheffield will allow for more regular face-to-face meetings and interactions with both these groups as we work together to implement projects for our common clients."
RTI provides consulting and research expertise to help pharmaceutical, biotechnology, diagnostics and medical device companies develop and commercialise their products.
David Fletcher, from city development company, Creativesheffield, said: "We are delighted to see RTI establish a presence in Sheffield. As well as having one of the largest research and teaching hospitals in the UK, we are home to many other companies serving the medical sector."
