Rotherham shop staff do their bit to support army of carers

Staff at a South Yorkshire chain of food stores have raised more than £12,000 for the Carers’ Trust – a charity which provides desperately needed breaks, information, advice, support and services for the nation’s hidden army of young adult carers.

Co-ops across the county played their part, but the top fundraiser was the Station Road store at Swinton, Rotherham, which, with the support of customers, amassed £3,495.

Adrian Sykes, regional operations manager, said: “The teams in my area have done a fantastic job putting the fun into fundraising, and I’d like to congratulate them all.”
