Rentals market still booming

Yorkshire’s booming house rental market is showing no signs of slowing down, according to the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

Demand for rental property in Yorkshire and Humber continued to rise last quarter, even though rents have continued to rise since the early part of the year, says RICS.

RICS global residential director Peter Bolton King said: “The lettings market in Yorkshire and Humber continued to flourish last quarter with more and more people looking to rent and an increasing number of properties being put on to the market.

”With issues such as a lack of affordable mortgage finance preventing many from buying a home, this trend looks set to continue for the foreseeable future.”
