Quba a cut above for new campaign

AN AMERICAN corporation, which claims to be the world's biggest cutlery company, has chosen Sheffield-based digital marketing agency Quba to spearhead its new sales drive.

New York-based Oneida has awarded Rockingham Street-based Quba a six figure contract to create the initiative, which will include a pay-per-click Google campaign, targeted email offers and managing affiliated websites.

The brief also involves a major drive to push Oneida's UK websites up the search engine rankings.

That will involve working on the website of former Sheffield cutlery giant, Viners, which Oneida acquired in 2001, as well as Oneida UK's own website.

Quba account director David Sealey said: "We are delighted to be working with such a prestigious brand on a project aimed at increasing sales by over 25 percent in the coming year."

Oneida managing director Mike Weston said that Oneida had decided to use one company with extensive experience of improving direct consumer sales to obtain a more effective and better related programme of activities.

He said: "Oneida has developed a successful web presence that promotes the various brands and direct sales to consumers, especially through www.viners.co.uk.

"In order to enhance this presence, we chose Quba to manage our PPC (Pay Per Click), SEO (Search Engine Optimisation), affiliates, e-commerce and social network campaigns.

"Quba promised to deliver passion, ideas, support and results. So far they have delivered on all four counts. We are beginning to see increased visitors, more engagement and higher levels of conversion after a relatively short period of partnership."
