THE Vion poultry factory at Thorne, near Doncaster, is up for sale.
Dutch-based food producer Vion NV has announced plans to sell its 38 UK food factories to concentrate on its core markets in the Netherlands and Germany.
The firm, which took over the Grampian Foods factory in Coulman Road in 2008, is confident it can be sold as an ongoing viable business.
Chairman Peter Barr said interest was ‘strong’ and the ‘sale process will be completed in a smooth and orderly fashion to ensure business continuity for our employees, agricultural and other suppliers and our customers’.
