Warsaw-born Christopher Suski is aiming to balance the flow of Polish workers to the UK by filling his homeland’s dental surgeries with British patients.
Mr Suski is the managing director of BT Solutions, a new business based at Rotherham Investment and Development Office’s Moorgate Crofts Business Centre.
BT Solutions offers advice to UK businesses which are looking to set up in Poland; providing support with company registration, recruitment of staff and finding premises, as well as providing advice on legal and tax issues.
While he was setting up his business, Mr Suski discovered that UK dental services are far more expensive than in Poland.
What’s more, in some cases, the NHS could reimburse the cost of overseas treatment.
As a result he has developed a health and travel side to his business, which arranges a complete package, comprising surgery at an approved clinic in Poland, flights, transfers and accommodation.
“The UK has some of the highest costs in Europe for dental care,” says Mr Suski.
“My aim is to make specialist dental treatments more affordable, whilst giving UK residents the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful sights and culture of Poland.”
Christopher Suski says he chose to base his business in Rotherham because of the support available through RiDO and has been really pleased with the advice he received on registering his company, taxation and market research.
“Moorgate Crofts Business Centre is a great place for BT Solutions to be based and I hope it will grow rapidly and enable me to create new jobs in the South Yorkshire area,” he adds.
Support for BT Solutions was provided through a European Union funded project, called Growth and Prosperity in Rotherham, which has set up a “Soft Landing Zone” designed to make it easy for companies to set up in the town. Soft Landing Zone business development co-ordinator Bob Langley said: “We are delighted to welcome Christopher as a new business to Rotherham and are pleased he has found our facilities and mentoring so beneficial.
