A woman who has seen the highs and lows of Doncaster’s property market in a career spanning almost half a century has completed her last contract.

Senior paralegal Paula Pemberton has retired from the residential conveyancing team at hlw Keeble Hawson’s town centre office after 48 years helping home buyers move up the property ladder.

Mrs Pemberton, aged 65, of Bessacarr, started aged 16 at Frank Allen & Co as an office junior, and progressed to be a partner’s secretary before passing her professional exams and specialising in residential conveyancing. She said: “I have mixed feelings about leaving as I have enjoyed working here but the time has come for me to do other things. I have felt very much part of the team.”
