ROTHERHAM lad Mused Salem has been selected as the 2013 apprentice of the year by RUFC Community Sports Trust.
To win the award, Mused organised and took part in evening football sessions that engageD more than 60 young people at the start of the apprentice programme.
Mused, along with five other young people, then undertook an introduction to sports coaching course with Rotherham United where participants were continually assessed and put through a vigorous selection process.
Mused said: “It feels great to win this award. I started doing this because I just wanted to help young people, like myself, in my town.
“I wasn’t in it to win awards.
“But now that I have, I feel really privileged.”
