MP spends time with jobseekers

Shadow Culture Minister and South Yorkshire MP Dan Jarvis has spent time talking to job seekers about the support they are getting to find work.

The Labour MP for Barnsley Central was keen to see the work being done to help individuals on the Work Programme, which is being delivered in his constituency by Sheffield-based firm A4e on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions.

He also chatted to staff during the visit to the A4e offices in Churchfield Court, Barnsley.

Mr Jarvis said: “The current economic climate means that these are very tough times for people who are out of work – I will work with the public sector and the private sector so collectively we make sure we’re doing everything possible to support, help and encourage people back into work.”
