Mayor to open revamped cafe

The Mayor is due to open a new-look cafe tomorrow in Doncaster’s Market Hall.

Café owner Jason Parker has been operating there since 2006 and has just completed a refurbishment with new furniture, equipment and a contemporary look.

Jason has worked with local artist Michael Coning to produce a mural which graces the café walls depicting many local icons such as Doncaster-built steam locomotives.

The Market Café is one of 10 varied eating places in the market, which range from general cafes to coffee bars and traditional tea rooms.

Mayor Peter Davies said: “It’s no secret that the regeneration of the town centre and support for Doncaster Market are very high on my agenda.

“I am always delighted to see real investment by local people in our town and markets.”
