Landslip causes rail disruption in South Yorkshire

News: Latest from The Star.

News: Latest from The Star.

TRAIN services are being disrupted in South Yorkshire this morning due to a landslip.

The incident has happened on tracks near Hatfield and Stainforth station, Doncaster, and is affecting a range of routes.

Buses are replacing trains between Doncaster, Goole and Scunthorpe, with journey times extended by up to 60 minutes

Services between Sheffield and Hull, Bridlington and Scarborough are being diverted via Selby.

Meanwhile, services between Doncaster and Scunthorpe are suspended

First TransPennine Express services between Manchester Airport and Cleethorpes, which call at Sheffield, are not running between Doncaster and Scunthorpe.

A spokeswoman for Northern Rail, which operates most journeys affected, said: “Emergency engineering works are being carried out at Hatfield and Stainforth due to a landslip.

“We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
