Isle band The Torn have signed up with one of the country’s fastest growing record labels.

The indie-rockers have agreed a deal with Sound Hub Records which are based in Derby and Stafford after being invited to meet their production team, Barrington and Tom Carter.

A spokesman for the band said: “The Torn will record three songs at the Derby studios, with final mastering of the tracks being carried out by a London music company.

“A video is to be filmed by Doncaster-based Fern Media, and will be produced and directed by Howard Johnson and Lee Pearman, for the first song to be released in late summer 2014.

“The songs will be distributed world wide by Orchard, a London-based company.”

He added: “We are looking forward to working alongside Sound Hub and will be planning a single release launch event.”

The band was formed in 2005 by four like minded musicians from the Isle. Their distinctive brand of indie-rock has travelled to many venues nationwide. Their first gig was a Battle of the Bands competition which they went on to win, and since then have supported bands such as The Bluetones, as well as headlining gigs to audiences from 12 to 12,000.

The Torn return to their home town of Epworth when they play at The Mowbray Arms on Saturday May 17 from 9pm.
