Innovator launches novel swap scheme
Innovative Sheffield distribution products specialist Loadhog has launched a pioneering job swap work experience scheme as part of National Apprenticeships Week.
The Brightside business has joined forces with major supplier, technical plastics recycler Luxus, to enable each company’s apprentices to spend up to eight weeks at the other company’s premises, getting an in-depth understanding of the technical processes behind product development in both companies.
Luxus apprentices will see how its materials are used in Loadhog’s injection moulding machines and will work with designers and engineers from Loadhog’s Ideas and Innovation centre. Loadhog apprentices will be able to get a better understanding of how Lexus’s products, which contain high levels of recycled materials, are sourced and developed in its technical centre.
Loadhog’s Ed Stubbs, said: “We are delighted to join Luxus at this time when the need for engineering focused apprenticeships has never been greater.”
