Initiative earns praise

Chesterfield couple Carol-ine Moore and Phil Churm have been named a bronze winner of the Barclays Trad-ing Places Awards.

The couple won for triumphing over adversity to establish their own business, Securit (GB), which supplies secure metal storage units.

Phil lost part of his leg when he was just nine months old, while Caroline’s father died when she was nine and she saw his business go into liquidation. She has recently been battling with skin cancer.

Phil, whose disability had not stopped him working in the sheet metal industry and riding motorcycles, devised the original idea for his secure store for motorcycles while working for a Sheffield company.

Securit (GB) was launched in July 2004 and now makes simple, solid and secure metal storage units that are suitable for motorbikes, mobility scooters, caravan equipment and more.
