Get connected at rail station

FREE wireless internet is being launched at 30 railway stations including Sheffield’s by East Midlands Trains.

The Sheffield to London rail operator is to provide the service from next year, using Wi-Fi provider The Cloud.

Vince Russell, managing director at The Cloud, said: “Rail stations are no longer just thoroughfares. With shops, cafes, bars and restaurants located at various stations now, passengers are spending longer at each location and it’s vital they have the best possible mobile data service.”

Neil Micklethwaite, of East Midlands Trains, said: “We already offer Wi-Fi on trains and first class lounges at stations. Now we will complete the Wi-Fi package by adding all other areas to the mix, from platforms to retail and food and beverage venues.”
