Food robotics centre's new premises
An initiative to encourage the food and drinks industry to make greater use of automation, which started out in the Advanced Manufacturing Park's Innovation Technology Centre, has relocated to state-of-the-art premises in Doncaster.
The Centre for Food Robotics and Automation (CenFRA) will continue to offer the same services and automation audits that it provided from the AMP at its new Crompton Business Park.
But the new premises will also allow it to demonstrate flexible automation systems, directly applicable to the food and drink industry.
CenFRA is a 'not for profit' business, funded by Yorkshire Forward and the Northern Way, a collaboration between the North's three regional development agencies, and developed in partnership with experts in robotics and automation from the Salford University.
Yorkshire Forward executive director of business, Simon Hill, said: "In creating the Centre for Food for Robotics and Automation, Yorkshire Forward, along with its partners is offering food and drink processing companies access to new innovations to enable them to make informed choices when moving their businesses forward.
"We are encouraging all businesses, particularly small and medium enterprises to consider their options and engage with the Centre."
