Entrepreneur backs trainer

A PIONEERING certification scheme, launched by a local training business, has won the backing of Sheffield entrepreneur Ian Townsend.

The Reset Certification Scheme is the brainchild of Gary Duce, the managing director of Ecclesfield-based Reset Training.

Reset has created an electronic method of logging and checking the skills and qualifications of contract personnel and has already secured support from Leeds Bradford International Airport, which is insisting all its contractors carry an RCS card.

Mr Townsend, the former chairman of Medical House, which was sold in a multi-million pound deal in 2009, is one of three investors who have pumped a total of £200,000 into Reset and are ready to make further investments as the company expands.
