SETTING up a business is being made easier for people in Rotherham.
Wannabe entrepreneurs will get the chance to try their hand at running a shop in a new project designed to improve the town centre. Rotherham Council has teamed up with the local Investment and Development Office to let business-brains test out products on shoppers.
A prime spot in a retail unit at Imperial Buildings, with flexible lease terms, will be offered to anyone looking to start out in retail.
If you have ever thought about running your own shop, then Rotherham has the ideal opportunity for you to try the idea out for real. Rental discounts, help with fitting out and free business support and retail training will also be on offer.
Coun Gerald Smith, Rotherham Council’s cabinet member for regeneration, said: “It can be a big decision, financially and practically, to set up a retail venture, and the pop-up shop concept gives people the ideal chance to see if the business idea works.”
