Work starts on housing

WORK has begun on a £2.3 million development of 20 family homes.

Coun Don Parsons, Mayor of Chesterfield, launched the development on a formerly derelict site at Frecheville Street, Staveley, by Guinness Northern Counties, which is due for completion next April.

The scheme will provide 12 two and three-bed homes for affordable rent and a further eight homes for sale through shared ownership.

Coun Parsons said: “One of Chesterfield Council’s key priorities is to provide a place where everyone has access to a decent and affordable home – in public and private sectors.”
