Apprentice winner Michelle joins workers in same position as her
BUSINESSWOMAN Michelle Dewberry got the chance to meet some other successful apprentices when she visited Sheffield.
Michelle, who won the second series of the BBC series, 'The Apprentice,' was in the city to mark the first annual National Apprenticeship Week.
During her time in the city she visited sheltered accommodation Painted Fabrics in Meadowhead to meet apprentices from building maintenance company Kier Sheffield LLP who are working on site.
She saw 14 apprentice joiners, plumbers and plasterers, helping to install new kitchens, bathrooms and level access showers at Painted Fabrics.
Michelle said: "Visiting the Kier apprentices at Painted Fabrics was really interesting and was proof positive of the impact apprenticeships can have on a business and the local community.
"Not only are the apprentices learning on the job, but their work is helping to improve the homes of Painted Fabrics' residents."
National Apprenticeship Week celebrates the success of apprentices and encourages more employers to get involved, gave the Learning and Skills Council (LSC) in Yorkshire and the Humber the opportunity to showcase local apprentices.
Kier Sheffield LLP, part of Kier Building Maintenance North, is a strong advocate of apprenticeships and operates a very popular scheme.
