Burns the visionary

Scottish Poet Robert Burns.
Scottish Poet Robert Burns.
Have your say

All these who want to remain in the European Union should perhaps, read the second verse of the Robert Burns song, The Dumfries Volunteers. It goes thus.

O let us not like snarling dogs,

In wrangling be divided

Till,slap! come in a foreigner

And with a cudgel decide it!

Be Britain still to Britain true,

Among ourselves united;

For never but by British hands

Must British wrongs be righted.

Burns was not just a great poet and songwriter, he must have also been a great visionary.
