A burglar raided a house in Sheffield after smashing a door and window to gain entry.

The crook struck in Coverdale Road, Bannerdale, some time between Tuesday, August 2 and Sunday, August 7.

A police probe is underway.

Officers in the city are also investigating burglaries in Gordon Avenue, Norton Lees; Cross Myrtle Road, Heeley; Warminster Place, Hemsworth; Witney Street, Highfield; Neill Road, Hunters Bar and Lupton Road, Lowedges.

There was an attempted burglary of a house in Ambler Rise, Aughton, Rotherham.
