What was once a ‘problem’ property is set to become an asset for a Sheffield suburb, its new owner has revealed.
Haroon Sharif, who has paid £158,000 for the block on Main Road, Darnall, which has three shops and three flats above, says he will be finishing off the flats and making sure the building is well-maintained.
Mr Sharif, a quantity surveyor and private landlord, said: “I own shops in Darnall already and want this building to be an asset for the area.
“We have some good tenants already - including a top-notch sandwich shop.”
Mr Sharif said the building does not have a problem with rats – which was reported by estate agents Blundells prior to the sale – and that the site is secure.
There had been rumours of ‘illegal activity’ such as cannabis growing in the flats. But Mr Sharif said: “The building was unfinished. The flats will be completed and let.”
